ܒܥܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܐܚܝ ܥܠ ܡܐܬܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܘܥܠ ܟܢܘܫܝܐ ܕܝܠܢ ܕܠܘܬܗ
dlwthh dyln knwshy' wel mshykh' yshwe dmrn m'thythh el 'khy mnkwn dyn beynn
Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you

ܕܠܐ ܥܓܠ ܬܬܙܝܥܘܢ ܒܪܥܝܢܝܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܬܘܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܡܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܢ ܐܓܪܬܐ ܕܐܝܟ ܕܡܢ ܠܘܬܢ ܗܝ ܕܗܐ ܠܡ ܡܛܝ ܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܢ
dmrn ywmh mTy lm dh' hy lwthn dmn d'yk 'grth' mn wl' rwkh' mn wl' mlth' mn l' ththwhwn wl' breynykwn ththzyewn egl dl'
not to be quickly shaken in your mind, and not be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as if from us, saying that the day of Christ has already come.

ܠܡܐ ܐܢܫ ܢܛܥܝܟܘܢ ܒܚܕ ܡܢ ܐܣܟܡܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢ ܠܐ ܬܐܬܐ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܡܪܘܕܘܬܐ ܘܢܬܓܠܐ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܕܚܛܝܬܐ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܒܕܢܐ
d'bdn' brh dkhTyth' brnsh' wnthgl' mrwdwth' lwqdm th'th' l' d'n mTl 'skmyn mn bkhd nTeykwn 'nsh lm'
Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction,

ܗܘ ܕܠܩܘܒܠܐ ܗܘ ܘܡܫܬܥܠܐ ܥܠ ܟܠ ܡܢ ܕܡܬܩܪܐ ܐܠܗ ܘܕܚܠܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܦ ܒܗܝܟܠܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܟ ܐܠܗܐ ܢܬܒ ܘܢܚܘܐ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܗ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ
hw d'lh' 'yk npshh el wnkhw' nthb 'lh' 'yk d'lh' bhykl' d'p 'ykn' wdkhl' 'lh dmthqr' mn kl el wmshthel' hw dlqwbl' hw
he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.

ܠܐ ܥܗܕܝܬܘܢ ܕܟܕ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܗܘܝܬ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܡܪܬ ܗܘܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ
lkwn hwyth 'mrth hlyn hwyth lwthkwn dkd ehdythwn l'
Don’t you remember that, when I was still with you, I told you these things?

ܘܗܫܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܐ ܕܐܚܝܕ ܕܢܬܓܠܐ ܗܘ ܒܙܒܢܗ
bzbnh hw dnthgl' d'khyd m' 'nthwn ydeyn whsh'
Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.

ܐܪܙܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܥܘܠܐ ܡܢ ܟܕܘ ܫܪܝ ܠܡܬܚܦܛܘ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܢ ܗܘ ܡܐ ܕܗܫܐ ܐܚܝܕ ܢܫܬܩܠ ܡܢ ܡܨܥܬܐ
mtseth' mn nshthql 'khyd dhsh' m' hw 'n blkhwd lmthkhpTw shry kdw mn dewl' gyr 'rz'
For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way.

ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܢܬܓܠܐ ܥܘܠܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܢܣܝܦܝܘܗܝ ܒܪܘܚ ܦܘܡܗ ܘܢܒܛܠܝܘܗܝ ܒܓܠܝܢܐ ܕܡܐܬܝܬܗ
dm'thythh bglyn' wnbTlywhy pwmh brwkh nsypywhy yshwe dmrn hw ewl' nthgl' whydyn
Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;

ܡܐܬܝܬܗ ܓܝܪ ܕܗܘ ܒܡܥܒܕܢܘܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܣܛܢܐ ܒܟܠ ܚܝܠ ܘܐܬܘܬܐ ܘܬܕܡܪܬܐ ܕܓܠܬܐ
dglth' wthdmrth' w'thwth' khyl bkl dsTn' hy bmebdnwth' dhw gyr m'thythh
even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

ܘܒܟܠܗ ܛܘܥܝܝ ܕܥܘܠܐ ܕܗܘܝܐ ܒܐܒܝܕܐ ܥܠ ܕܠܐ ܩܒܠܘ ܚܘܒܐ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ ܕܒܗ ܢܚܘܢ
nkhwn dbh dqwshth' khwb' qblw dl' el b'byd' dhwy' dewl' Tweyy wbklh
and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

ܡܛܠܗܢܐ ܢܫܕܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܥܒܕܢܘܬܐ ܕܛܘܥܝܝ ܕܢܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܠܫܘܩܪܐ
lshwqr' dnhymnwn dTweyy mebdnwth' 'lh' lhwn nshdr mTlhn'
Because of this, God sends them a working of error, that they should believe a lie;

ܘܢܬܕܝܢܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ ܒܩܘܫܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܨܛܒܝܘ ܒܥܘܠܐ
bewl' 'tsTbyw 'l' bqwshth' hymnw dl' 'ylyn klhwn wnthdynwn
that they all might be judged who didn’t believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

ܚܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܚܝܒܝܢܢ ܠܡܘܕܝܘ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܥܠ ܐܦܝܟܘܢ ܐܚܝܢ ܚܒܝܒܘܗܝ ܕܡܪܢ ܕܓܒܟܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܢ ܪܫܝܬܐ ܠܚܝܐ ܒܩܕܝܫܘܬܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܘܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܕܫܪܪܐ
dshrr' wbhymnwth' drwkh' bqdyshwth' lkhy' rshyth' mn 'lh' dgbkwn dmrn khbybwhy 'khyn 'pykwn el bklzbn l'lh' lmwdyw khybynn dyn khnn
But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth;

ܠܗܠܝܢ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܩܪܟܘܢ ܒܡܣܒܪܢܘܬܐ ܕܝܠܢ ܕܬܗܘܘܢ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܠܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ
mshykh' yshwe lmrn thshbwkhth' dthhwwn dyln bmsbrnwth' qrkwn gyr hw lhlyn
to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

ܡܟܝܠ ܐܚܝ ܐܬܩܝܡܘ ܘܚܡܣܢܘ ܒܦܘܩܕܢܐ ܕܝܠܦܬܘܢ ܐܢ ܒܡܠܬܐ ܘܐܢ ܒܐܓܪܬܐ ܕܝܠܢ
dyln b'grth' w'n bmlth' 'n dylpthwn bpwqdn' wkhmsnw 'thqymw 'khy mkyl
So then, brothers, stand firm, and hold the traditions which you were taught by us, whether by word, or by letter.

ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܘܐܠܗܐ ܐܒܘܢ ܗܘ ܕܐܚܒܢ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܒܘܝܐܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܘܣܒܪܐ ܛܒܐ ܒܛܝܒܘܬܗ
bTybwthh Tb' wsbr' dlelm bwy'' ln wyhb d'khbn hw 'bwn w'lh' mshykh' yshwe mrn dyn hw
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,
